California Condor Widely distributed in North America, it was abundant until the early 20th century, but by the 1980s it had decreased to 20. The surviving wild individuals were captured and breeding began. The plan went smoothly, and the return to the wild began in 1992, and the 2012 survey confirmed more than 200 wild individuals.
